Voobly stores recorded games automatically on, and every rated game is put on. If they are, please provide a link where they specifically tell that they are attempting to decrease the latency in multiplayer and optimize the game. Optimizations for aoe2 HD are not planned at the moment. Voobly has multiple lobbies for people who play this game at different skill levels. The framerate of units is constant and does not have a continuous stuttering. Voobly has a much better spectating system. Voobly has and will always have better matchmaking than aoe2 HD.
#Voobly age of empires 2 hd Patch#
There are already 3 hotfixes for the 4.4 patch and there's still a massive list of bugs that aren't fixed. It is made by volunteers who have pretty much infinite time, opposed to people who have forced to rush patches before release. The 1.4 Userpatch is tested before release and didn't introduce gamebreaking bugs. It has support for more population, and playing on very high population doesn't make the game lag nearly as much as on aoe2 HD. 1.4 Userpatch works perfectly fine on modern systems. HD does not have multiple resolution support, unlike 1.4 Userpatch. The campaigns on the 1.4 Userpatch work just fine. Singleplayer far superiour on HD? Last time I tried pausing didn't work properly. You pretty much ignored every advantage Voobly has over HD. I would expect optimizations in the coming weeks and months to smooth out multiplayer once again. With that in mind voobly doesn't have and will not get to see the African Kingdoms. The core game is unchanged beyond some balance and extra feature like wide screen support. With the release of a new expansion there is now more work to do because it is more laggy than before the new expansion. It seemed to really help compared to the earlier versions of HD. That said they have recently done some major changes to the way the game used to process data in multiplayer. Single player in HD is far Superior to voobly. Adding new stuff into an old game can be very tricky and results in poor optimizations. Many parts of the game have been rewritten. Being HD there is naturally higher requirements. That said HD is an attempt to bring the game into modern systems and integrate it with platforms such as steam. First of all voobly is just a game client like gamer ranger that allows you to connect with other players.
